Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) facilitated a post-orientation training for the 81 graduating Chinese students of the Faculty of Liberal Arts’ BA in Communicative Thai as a Second Language Program on 12th March 2021 at Lecture Room 3 on the third floor of the Administration Building.
This year’s post-orientation tradition was special since the onsite activity was simultaneously held on an online platform to cater to some Chinese students who opted to stay at home and learn via HCU’s online platform as a preventive measure for the spread of COVID-19 virus.
Ajarn Dr. Patcharin Buranakorn, the Head of the Thai Language and Culture Department, presided the event, with Ajarn Athasit Sunato, a full-time lecturer in the humanities section, as the guest speaker. On his speech, he shared valuable information about preparing for work and acquainting oneself with the outside world.
The event was graced by some alumni of this curriculum, who are now working in a plethora of professions: company managers, managing directors, sales or marketing staff, Thai artists, language teachers, and interpreters in hospitals and international trading companies. Not only they expressed their warm felicitations and congratulations to the graduating students, but also shared their experiences while studying a master’s degree in the department and the nature of their current work and workplaces.
